Angelina Jolie fronts the cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s December 2019/January 2020 issue with grace and sensuality.
The 44-year-old is seen draped only in a silky translucent veil as she radiates a stoic expression, bringing her inks to view.
In the accompanying interview, the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil actress unveils a heartfelt story about her mother and the tattoo on her arm that says, “Wild At Heart.”
“I have a tattoo [reading], ‘A prayer for the wild at heart kept in cages.’ I got it when I was 20,” the actress divulges.
“I was with my mom one evening, and I was feeling lost. I was restless—always. I still am,” she shares.
Her mother then brought up playwright Tennessee Williams, who had written about being “wild at heart,” inspiring Jolie to drive to a tattoo parlor and get an ink done on her left arm that night.
The actress hopes for the best in 2020, and advises readers to “remember who they are and to be who they are regardless of what might be disrupting their ability to be free,” adding that the inner battle will be “different… for everyone.”
Jolie is in the midst of discussing custody of her children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, but remains positive as she looks forward to the year ahead.
